Southend Mosque is committed to helping local schools fulfil their Religious Education (RE) syllabus by providing valuable learning experiences about Islam. We aim to support teachers and students in gaining a clear, authentic, and engaging understanding of Islamic beliefs, practices, and culture.

We offer the following educational opportunities for schools:

1. School Visits to the Mosque

Schools are welcome to visit Southend Mosque for guided tours, interactive discussions, and Q&A sessions with our Imam and community members.

2. Imam Visits to Schools

Our Imam can visit schools to deliver engaging lessons on Islam, answer students’ questions, and provide insights into Islamic teachings.

3. Workshops & Presentations

We offer age-appropriate workshops that cover key topics in Islam, aligned with the school’s RE syllabus.

4. Educational Resources

Teachers can access booklets, presentations, and lesson plans to help them deliver accurate and meaningful lessons on Islam.

5. Interfaith Dialogue Sessions

We promote understanding and respect through discussions between different faith communities, encouraging inclusivity and shared values.

6. Special School Assemblies

Our team can deliver assemblies on topics such as Islamic values, moral teachings, and the role of Muslims in British society.

7. Ramadan & Eid Awareness

We provide insights into the significance of Ramadan and Eid, offering activities such as fasting awareness days to enhance learning.

8. Interactive Learning Experiences

Students can engage in activities like Islamic calligraphy, Quran recitations, and learning about Islamic art, culture, and traditions.

9. Teacher Training & Support

We assist teachers in understanding Islamic teachings to ensure they deliver accurate and respectful RE lessons.

10. Community Engagement

We collaborate with schools on diversity and inclusion projects, helping students appreciate the values of respect and harmony.
